What’s included

  • Mowing at the correct heightWisconsin cool-season turf is cut at 3–3.5 inches, not scalped. Taller grass shades out crabgrass and holds moisture through a July dry spell.
  • Edging and string trimmingClean lines along drives, walks, beds and fence lines. This is the detail that separates a mowed lawn from a maintained one.
  • Clipping cleanupHard surfaces blown clear every visit. Clippings are mulched back into the turf as free nitrogen unless growth is heavy enough to mat.

Lawn Care questions, answered

How much does lawn mowing cost in Milwaukee?

Most quarter-acre Milwaukee residential lots fall between $40 and $70 per visit, depending on lot size, slope, obstacles and how much trimming is involved. Larger properties and overgrown first cuts are quoted individually. Every estimate from ALT Landscaping is free and given in writing before any work starts.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. ALT Landscaping works weekly, biweekly, monthly or fully as-needed. Most homeowners choose weekly service from May through September and biweekly in the shoulder months, but you set the schedule and you can change it during the season.

When does the mowing season start in Milwaukee?

Turf in Zone 5b usually needs its first cut in the third or fourth week of April, once soil temperatures hold above 50°F. Cutting earlier, while the ground is still saturated, causes rutting and compaction. ALT Landscaping begins routes when the grass is actually growing, not by calendar date.

Do you cut when the grass is wet?

Light dew is not a problem. After heavy rain we may push a property to the next day rather than rut a soft lawn or leave clumped, matted clippings behind. If a visit shifts, you get a message.
